Frequently Asked Questions
Who makes Bebito plush toys?
Good question. Bebito is a brand of goods invented by Rachel Hedges, an artist in Indianapolis. She creates them with the help of a studio assistant and a lot of coffee. Bebito is also sustained by a strong community of supportive customers, friends, and family.
What do you make the toys out of?
Sweaters - mostly wool and cashmere repurposed from items that are found, donated or discarded
Repurposed Leather - mainly cut from used jackets or skirts
Vintage Fabrics - interesting or cool patterns or designs from fabrics or textiles from days gone by
Felt - wool or synthetic felt in bright or bold colors is perfect for details.
New Fabrics - a small amount of new fabrics are used, usually plush or faux fur
Embroidery floss - from the giant collection inherited from Rachel's grandmother.
Polyfil - the toys are given their shape when stuffed with polyester fiberfill, which comes from a recyclable source when possible, other times we use brand new.
Vintage Eletreo Grande Deluxe - sewing machine that must be 60 years old but still works great!
Do you do custom orders?
YES! Custom orders are always treated with special attention and care.
